Permanent Gabion Support – Penybanc, Carmarthenshire – South Wales

Project Overview
The developers of this new housing estate were not satisfied with the slope of the rear gardens. To level the gardens an additional layer of gabion baskets were needed. Due to the increased height and loading, anchors were required to support the existing gabion retaining wall.
Project Overview
Two rows of earth anchors were driven directly through the existing gabion baskets, at 1m centres, to a depth of 4.5m, using a small excavator and machine mounted breaker. The anchors were then proof tested and locked off, providing additional restraint to the wall and surrounding earth. The garden was then levelled.
