This retaining wall was exhibiting signs of stress cracking and had rotated out of vertical enough to cause concern to the local residents. Remedial work was required to repair the cracks, then anchors were used to stabilise the wall from further rotational movement and possible collapse.
Platipus anchors were installed to a driven depth of 8m. Each anchor was loaded and locked off against the wall using a stainless steel load plate. The finishing touch to this aesthetically pleasing solution was a smooth stainless steel domed cap. The anchor installation was designed and indemnified through Platipus.
