Erosion control is the practice of preventing or controlling the effects of wind or water in land development, coastal areas, river banks and construction. Effective erosion control manages surface runoff and is an important technique in preventing water pollution, soil loss as well as protecting property and wildlife habitats. The controls often involve the creation of a physical barrier, such as vegetation, to absorb some of the energy of the wind or water that is causing the erosion. Platipus has developed a range of standard ARGS® Anchor Systems that can secure any facing material close to the ground to encourage re-vegetation.
