Pioneering Percussion Driven Earth Anchors (PDEA®) for 40 Years

Menu

A solution was required to counter uplift for this underground walkway connecting two buildings on opposite sides of a road in Co Derry, Northern Ireland.

12 Platipus Anchors with 120 year design life were installed. The wire tendon was then passed over the walkway, via bespoke brackets to prevent bending of the tendon, and attached to the anchors on the other side. The road was then re-instated over the walkway.

This challenging project was designed by Clare Brennan of Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG), and ably managed by Terry O’Neill & installed by Stronghold Preservation. Great work all round!
