What is Vertical Suitability Testing?

Vertical Suitability Testing is a method of assessing the performance of Percussion Driven Earth Anchors (PDEA®) by driving the anchor vertically behind the structure, rather than through it.

Anchors are driven the same distance behind the wall and to the same depth as specified in the final design. This approach provides accurate ground data while avoiding any impact on the existing structure.

Key benefits of this method include:

  • No need to drill core holes through the structure
  • Safe testing to bearing capacity failure without exerting high point loads on the structure
  • Accurate ground investigation information to assist in the final anchor design

This is a simple and less intrusive method ideal for projects where protecting the integrity of existing structures is critical.
