Pioneering Percussion Driven Earth Anchors (PDEA®) for 40 Years

East Lismore Floating Solar – Australia

Platipus Anchors - Flag of UK

Project Overview

One of the first of its kind in Australia at the time, this 100kW array was a key part of the local council’s renewable energy goals. Located in northern New South Wales, an area prone to severe flooding, the proposed floating solar array for the East Lismore Sewage Treatment Plant required additional support to help overcome future storm and flooding events.

A total of 9 B6 PDEA® Systems were installed on dry land and 6 directly from a floating platform in the water. Each anchor system was then loadlocked into its working position and immediately proof tested for Working (Design) Loads ranging from 10kN to 40kN. This entire installation process was easily carried out over a 2 day period using readily available equipment, allowing the entire project to be completed in under 2 weeks.
