This was the case on the Burgess Hill Embankment project, where Plati-Drain™ was a game changing solution to resolve pore water pressure within the soil.
Installed along a 1km stretch of railway, the Plati-Drains™ were driven into the embankment beneath the track bed. This alleviated pore water pressure from deep within the slope, before discharging into carrier drains to move the water away from the asset. This significantly improved the stability of the embankment reducing the risk of further movement. By using Plati-Drain™ the line remained fully operational during installation.
